Terms of service

Last updated October 7, 2026

These terms are the agreement between your pet-care business and Blue Captain LLC, the company that makes SitterWorks. We kept them short and wrote them in plain English. Please read them. If anything is unclear, email us at info@getsitterworks.com.

The short version

  • SitterWorks is software for running your pet-care business. We don't provide pet care, and we aren't part of your agreements with your clients.
  • Your business data belongs to you. You can download it at any time, and we delete it after you leave.
  • SitterWorks is free during early access. We will never charge you without telling you at least 30 days ahead and getting your clear agreement.
  • Your clients pay your business directly through your own Stripe account. We don't take a cut today.
  • You are responsible for getting your clients' permission before texting them, and for how you run your business.
  • You can cancel at any time. Oregon law applies, and there is no forced arbitration.

This agreement

By creating a SitterWorks account or using SitterWorks, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you sign up for a business, you confirm that you have the authority to agree for that business. "You" means you and your business. "We" and "us" mean Blue Captain LLC.

These terms are for businesses that use SitterWorks. If you are a client of a pet-care business, your agreement is with that business, and our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Who can use SitterWorks

You must be at least 18 and using SitterWorks for a business, not for personal or household use. SitterWorks is only offered in the United States.

Price during early access

SitterWorks is free while it is in early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will:

  • Tell you the price and what you get at least 30 days before any charge
  • Charge you only after you clearly agree to a paid plan
  • Let you cancel online, in the app, as easily as you signed up

If you don't agree to a paid plan, you can keep your data by downloading it, and we will treat your account as canceled.

Your account and team

You sign in with Google. Keep that Google account secure, because anyone who can get into it can get into SitterWorks. Tell us right away if you think someone got into your account.

You can invite team members and decide what each one can see and do. You are responsible for what your team does in SitterWorks, and for removing people who should no longer have access.

Your data is yours

Everything you and your clients put into SitterWorks belongs to your business. That includes client records, pet records, bookings, invoices, notes, photos, and files. You give us permission to store, copy, and process it only as needed to run SitterWorks for you.

For your clients' information, we act on your behalf. That means we:

  • Use it only to provide SitterWorks to you, and follow your instructions
  • Never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models
  • Never use it for any other business, including our founder's own pet-care business
  • Hold the companies we work with to the same rules (they are listed in our privacy policy)
  • Keep it confidential and protect it with reasonable security
  • Help you answer a client who asks to see, fix, or delete their information
  • Tell you promptly if a breach affects it
  • Let you download it at any time, and delete it after you leave

We may use counts and other totals that don't identify you or your clients to understand how SitterWorks is used and to improve it.

Your clients and your business

SitterWorks is software. We don't provide pet care, and we are not part of any agreement between you and your clients. We don't check, license, insure, or supervise pet-care businesses.

You are responsible for:

  • The care you provide, and the safety of the animals in your care
  • Your own licenses, permits, and insurance
  • Your prices, policies, contracts, refunds, and disputes with clients
  • Telling your clients how you handle their information, and following privacy laws that apply to your business
  • Making sure the information you put into SitterWorks is accurate and that you are allowed to use it

SitterWorks includes sample contract wording to help you get started. It is not legal advice. Have your own lawyer review any agreement you use with clients.

Payments through Stripe

If you accept card payments, you connect your own Stripe account. Your clients pay your business directly. You are the seller, the money goes to your Stripe account, and Stripe's fees come from your account. We don't take a fee from your payments today. If that ever changes, it is a price change and the rules in Price during early access apply.

Payment processing services for pet-care businesses on SitterWorks are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these terms or continuing to operate on SitterWorks, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe may change it from time to time. As a condition of SitterWorks enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide SitterWorks accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize SitterWorks to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.

Refunds, chargebacks, and payment disputes are between you, your client, and Stripe. SitterWorks also lets you record payments made in other ways, like cash or Venmo, but those happen outside SitterWorks.

Texts and emails

SitterWorks can send texts and emails to your clients for you. Before you text a client, you must have their permission, and you must record it in SitterWorks. When a client replies STOP, SitterWorks stops texting them, and you must not try to get around that.

Use messages for your clients' bookings and care, not for spam. Marketing emails must follow anti-spam laws, including a way to unsubscribe. You are responsible for the messages you send through SitterWorks. During early access, texts and some emails are sent from shared SitterWorks numbers and addresses, with replies going to you.

AI features

Some features use AI to draft messages or suggest details, like what kind of booking a calendar event is. AI can make mistakes. Check what it writes before you send it or rely on it, especially anything about an animal's health, medication, or safety. You are responsible for what you choose to send or save.

Other services you connect

SitterWorks works with services like Google, Stripe, and your Rover calendar feed. Those services have their own terms, and you agree to follow them. We aren't responsible for their outages, changes, or mistakes, and a change on their side may mean a feature stops working.

SitterWorks is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rover. Rover is a trademark of A Place for Rover, Inc.

What you can't do

Please don't:

  • Break the law, or help someone else do it
  • Text or email people who haven't agreed to hear from you
  • Upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything harmful like viruses
  • Try to get into another business's data, or test or get around our security without our written permission
  • Copy, resell, or rebuild SitterWorks, or collect data from it with automated tools
  • Overload SitterWorks or interfere with other people using it

If someone uses SitterWorks to post something that infringes your copyright, email us at info@getsitterworks.com with the details and we will look into it.

Changes and early access

SitterWorks is in early access. We are still building it, and we will add, change, and sometimes remove features. We will tell you ahead of time before removing something you rely on. We work hard to keep SitterWorks running, but it may sometimes be down or slow.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve SitterWorks without owing you anything. Thank you in advance.

Canceling and ending

You can cancel at any time in SitterWorks settings. After you cancel, we keep your data for 90 days so you can change your mind or download a copy. After that we delete it, as explained in our privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or animals at risk, or puts SitterWorks at risk. When we can, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Unless the law stops us, you will still get the chance to download your data. We may also stop offering SitterWorks altogether. If we do, we will give you at least 60 days' notice to download your data.

Our promises and their limits

We will do our best to make SitterWorks reliable and useful, and to keep your data safe. But we can't promise it will be perfect.

SitterWorks is provided "as is" and "as available." As far as the law allows, we don't make any other promises about it, including that it will be error-free, always available, or fit for a particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or indirect damages. Our total responsibility for any claim about SitterWorks is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.

These limits don't apply to fraud, to harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or to anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

If someone makes a legal claim against us because of how you run your business, the content you put into SitterWorks, or messages you send through it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim.

If we disagree

If you have a problem, please email us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly that way.

If we can't work it out, Oregon law applies, and any lawsuit will be handled in the state or federal courts in Washington County, Oregon. Either of us can use small claims court instead. We don't use forced arbitration.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SitterWorks grows. For important changes, we will email you and show a notice in the app at least 30 days ahead. If you keep using SitterWorks after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then. Changes never apply to disagreements that started before the change.

The fine print

  • These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about SitterWorks.
  • If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer your account to someone else without our permission. We can transfer these terms if Blue Captain LLC or SitterWorks is sold or merged, and we will tell you if that happens.
  • We aren't responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, like major internet or power outages or natural disasters.
  • We will send notices to the email on your account. You can send notices to us at the contact details below.
